The sports shed has concrete! Although it’s already pretty dried (this got done on Friday, and I’m just uploading the pictures today…) the new concrete floor in the sports shed is going to be sweet! Check it out:
Check out this video (uploaded by a Camp Kern participant!) of the new “Tire Zip” behind cabin 14. It’s a really great time, and just another super-fun thing to do at Camp Kern!
Camp Kern is building TONS of new stuff this fall/winter/spring! By the time summer rolls around again, many new buildings will be up, and Camp Kern’s campers will be able to enjoy even more comfortable accommodations. Keep an eye out for New Construction for updates and announcements!
Just a few days past (ask anyone who was here for Labor Day Family Camp) the old sports shed was still in place. 5′ x 8′, dark, sharp pointy edges on things, and a strange smell all combined to make any foray into the sports shed an epic undertaking.
But now, behold…the NEW sports shed! At least…the framing so far.
The Maintenance staff (Chuck, Scotty, Robbie, Craig, and Ron) are refurbishing the shed and making it something less likely to devour a counselor whole.

The Quibbler is reporting this morning that the Ministry of Magic has been broken into. It appears the robbery was perpetrated last night, with the intruders breaking down a secure door to gain access to the wands of Dumbledore’s Army.
A 10,000 Galleon reward has been offered for any knowledge leading to the capture of the break-in’s mastermind.
We can’t wait to host all the Military families coming out to Camp Kern through Operation Military Kids! Â You guys are awesome, thank-you for everything your entire families do for our country. Â Hopefully your time at Camp is refreshing and rejuvenating! See you September 9th!
