Here’s a video of some of the girls from Ranc

h!  Those girls and their horses, there’s nothing like the bond between a rancher and her animal.

What do you want to see?

By: admin Posted on: May 29, 2009 Comments: 0

We want some feedback!  Yes, we could just ask you while you’re here (and trust me, we’re asking a ton of people), but we wanted to get some digital feedback on what you guys think.  This poll is a question for the future (near/far/etc.).  What new thing would you like to see MOST at Camp Kern? Take

a quick second and give us your thoughts.  A few of our ideas are below, we’d love to hear some original ideas as well.  Ultimately, due to cosmic interfearance and divine intervention (ie- budget) we may not be able to do all of the ideas.  But, we sure as heck will try![polldaddy poll=1582452]

What's going on in May?

Decisions

Here are some excerpts from our Weekly Departmental Reports for the Week of May 8, 2009.  They’re not in any particular order, but if you’re wondering what it looks like to be in a Monday Morning meeting, this is a small snapshot.

Outdoor Ed:  A new and huge worry. Springboro’s school levy failed by a narrow margin this week. A couple of the principals I spoke to suspected this could jeopardize their camp program.

Equestrian: May should be a good month- lots of trail rides, Girl Scout troops, and picking up some new lesson students.

Outdoor Education /Aquatics It was very full week which included our first Forest Hill’s group. With only minor bumps all went smoothly.

Conferencing/Leadership Successful planning…there were a lot of detailed schedules that intertwined this week.  It went off very well.

Executive: I needed more time, more daylight, more batteries for my cell phone. We need energy and focus.

Admin: Lots of Family Camp payments have been coming in.  The waiting list keeps growing for both Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Maintenance:

Groups Recruit and/or Satisfaction: The pool is now being filled!

World famous (Details, actions): The appearance of the grounds is very, very good.

Administration: World famous (Details, actions): Customer Service over the phone. Chari has picked up very quickly on how important it is to be that GREAT person on the other end of the phone. She has been very kind and helpful for those who are calling in. Couldn’t do better myself.

Executive:  Campers Recruit and/or Satisfaction: Some friends are sending their 8 years olds to camp…college buddies.
