Year-Round Lesson Program

Circle K Ranch has a fun, safe, educational, and progressive lesson program that is offered all year long. Our instructors are patient and knowledgeable and will help students of all ages achieve their horseback riding and horsemanship goals.

Lessons are offered in English, Western, Dressage, and Jumping, with a strong emphasis on good horsemanship, horse care, and sportsmanship. Students spend most of their lesson time on horseback, but will also participate in ground lessons on topics such as; grooming, tacking, leading, lunging, horse first aid, horse terms, barn management, and more! For those looking for something a bit different, Camp Kern offers gaited horse lessons on our wonderful Tennessee Walking Horses and other gaited breeds as well as lessons devoted to primarily trail riding and hacking.

Schedule & Rates

Scheduling is flexible and lessons are offered weekday evenings as well as Sunday afternoons. Lesson times last for 1 hour, and students should plan to arrive to lessons 15 minutes early to start grooming and tacking their horses.

Private: $40/ lesson
Group (up to 5 students): $30/ lesson

We also offer a homeschool and adult discount for lessons between 10:00am and 3:00pm on weekdays.  Lessons are offered to riders of all ages and are custom to the wants and needs of each age group.

Ribbon Program

Circle K Ranch also offers an optional ribbons program for students to track their progress. Students begin at the green ribbon and work their way to blue. To earn each ribbon, students must learn different horseback riding skills, horsemanship skills, and horse terms. It’s a great way for students, parents, and instructors to follow the growth of each student.
