Family Memories Built Around A Campfire

Join us for our Memorial Day, Labor Day or Mini Family Camp programs. Each of these programs provide a perfect way to spend time with family or friends, connecting and bonding in a beautiful, relaxed setting. These are residential programs, with families sleeping at camp in one of our heated and air-conditioned cabins or lodges. All meals and activities (except horseback riding and rafting) are included in the prices listed below.    

Memorial & Labor Day Family Camp

Start your own holiday weekend tradition with YMCA Camp Kern! Each themed weekend is based on offering traditional camp activities for all ages such as archery, climbing, swimming, zip lines, arts and crafts, canoeing, campfires, games and more. In addition, you will have some free time to explore camp and take advantage of all the self led activities such as hiking, sports and gaga. We also offer some great optional extras such as horseback riding and rafting. Most importantly though, your family will get to spend time together, building deeper relationships and meeting other families who will quickly become your lifelong 'camp friends'.

• 2025 Memorial Day Family Camp: May 23-26, 2025
• 2025 Labor Day Family Camp: August 29- September 1, 2025
• Check-in 7pm Friday, checkout 1pm Monday
• Costs:
  • Cabin Fee: $315-410 (depending on cabin type)
    • $315 (Standard Cabin)
    • $340 (Sugar Woods or ELK Lodge)
    • $410 (Casper Cabin Rental or Yurt)
  • Adults: $70
  • Children 5-17: $60
  • Children 4 and under: FREE
  • $100 deposit required to reserve your cabin
  • Add-Ons:
    • $30 Trail Ride (Ages 8 & Up)
    • $15 Pony Ride (Ages 7 & Under)
    • $TBD Canoe Trip

• All meals, lodging, activities (except horseback riding and rafting) are included 
• Bunk bed style accommodation provided (bring your own sleeping bag / blankets)
• Packing lists and activity schedules will be provided in advance

Mini Family Camp

Unpack those sleeping bags, round up the family and join us for a fun-filled weekend at YMCA Camp Kern. Rent one of our lodging facilities and fill your weekend with all sorts of camp activities! Check-in is Friday at 6pm and check-out is 1pm Sunday. Don't miss this opportunity to have a great weekend with your family, spending time together, in the beautiful outdoors!

• April 11-13, 2025 (20 Standard Cabins)
• September 12-14, 2025 (6 Yurts, 6 Sugarwoods Cabins, 6 Casper Cabins)
• October 3-5, 2025 (20 Standard Cabins & 6 Casper Cabins)
• Costs:
  • Cabin Fee (April): $220 (Standard Cabin or Yurt)
  • Cabin Fee (September): $220 (Yurt), $270 (Sugarwoods or Casper Cabin)
  • Cabin Fee (October): $220 (Standard Cabin), $270 (Casper Cabin)
  • Adults: $46
  • Children 5-17: $40
  • Children 4 and under: FREE

• Staffed activities will include archery, climbing, canoeing, Family Olympics, a Saturday night evening program, and an option for a pony or trail ride.
• Some activities for the weekend will be self-led including: hikes, arts and crafts, visits to the nature center.

Week-Long Summer Family Camp

Have you ever been a little jealous of the adventures your kids talk about from summer camp? Don’t miss this opportunity to have a blast with your family, spending time together, in the beautiful outdoors!

Staffed activities will include things like archery, climbing, BB’s, and a legendary Kern themed “Big Game.” With a variety of lengths and housing styles, we have options for whatever your family might need.

We’re excited to introduce, for the first time ever, a week-long family camp in August! Mornings consist of opportunities for child supervision from our counselor staff, then in the afternoon there will be open-programming-style traditional camp activities.

  • Housing Rental: $655 (Yurt or Standard)
